Meals to Your Door

Coming Soon

In response to the impact of COVID-19 and the subsequent changing needs of community members, Wattaka Cafe are looking to add a new Meals to Your Door service. Please note, this service will be available to those who meet an eligibility criteria (download our brochure for full details of the service and eligibility criteria).

With the support of BHP Vital Resource Fund and Ungooroo, Wattaka Cafe’s Meals to Your Door service will enable frail, older community members and younger people with disabilities and their carers to remain in their own homes and enjoy a level of independence and style of living to suit their individual needs and health and wellbeing.

This service is also a response to the increasing number of younger people with disabilities or arthritic conditions who also need assistance with meals. They may want to have a hot midday meal but in many cases they are so incapacitated they are unable to heat a frozen meal.

The initiative will also enable Wattaka Cafe to continue trading in what has become unique circumstances – related directly to the impact of COVID-19 and the social distancing requirements being practiced in the community.

Criteria

Meals to Your Door will be available to those who are deemed eligible. Eligibility is determined by Ungooroo Aboriginal Health staff.
